33 / 45 / 78 RPM

The rotation speeds for LPs, singles and shellac.

Records play at set speeds: 12-inch LPs at 33⅓ RPM, 7-inch singles at 45 (with a large center hole needing an adapter), and old shellac 78s far faster. Playing at the wrong speed shifts pitch; 78s also need a different stylus. Match speed to format.
