Bass Reflex / Port
A ported cabinet that extends low-frequency output.
A bass-reflex (ported) speaker uses a tuned opening to reinforce low frequencies, reaching deeper than a sealed box of the same size. The trade-off is placement sensitivity — a rear port too close to a wall booms. Sealed designs roll off gently but image cleanly.
