Moving Iron (MI)
A hybrid generator — MM-like output, MC-like low mass.
Moving-iron designs (Nagaoka, Grado) move a small iron piece rather than a magnet or coil, aiming for the low moving mass of an MC with the convenient high output of an MM. Many have a distinctive warm, full-bodied house sound that fans seek out.
