Idler Drive
A rubber wheel couples motor to platter rim.
Idler-drive decks use a rubber wheel pressed between motor and platter rim, the vintage approach behind classic Garrard and Lenco tables. Prized for punchy drive and torque, they need more isolation to tame rumble. Mostly a restoration and enthusiast niche today.
